#justsaying project ensures young people’s voice heard

Here at PLANED, the CWBR team has been busy working with communities to discern what Well-Being and Resilience means to them.  As part of the Community Well-Being and Resilience Project, we’re working with children and young people throughout Pembrokeshire. We’ve recently finished working with Hook CP School and have published our findings. These are available from the Community Council.

The work we completed with Hook was a great opportunity to not only work with the children of the local community but also find out what Well-Being means to them.

After having worked with the school, Matt Townsend (who has previously done visual facilitation and sketch nothing) summarised the findings in a way that the children would be able to interpret and connect with – a visual facilitation of the sessions with the school.

The work carried out in collaboration with the school raised lots of awareness and was seen by Pembrokeshire County Council as an example of Best Practice for engaging with children and young people. This resulted in an invitation for Matt to address the Hywell Dda UHB conference on a Child’s Rights Approach to Health and how to translate this work to practitioners in the NHS.
